Crazy, Sexy Cancer

Crazy, Sexy Cancer is a documentary by Kris Carr that’s been airing on TLC. It follows Kris on a video journey from the day she was diagnosed with a rare and incurable cancer. She bravely battles through her hospital visits and the search for the right doctor and the right treatment. She allows us to see into the life of an ordinary young woman trying to find her way in an unfamiliar world. She uses humor to shine a light on a subject that is so rarely talked about that it leaves the people suffering with it in the dark. Cancer is the number one killer in America and we still don’t talk about it. When asked what are some of the misconceptions about cancer, Kris says, “I think for me the main misconception is that in the world of cancer the outcome is either cure or death and there is nowhere in between.  I am an example of someone who lives with cancer, manages it and still has a perfectly normal dynamic life. Cancer has opened me up to the best life possible.  It hasn’t been a gift but it has been an extreme catalyst for personal revolution and I am grateful for it.  Truth be told, we are all saddled with something.  Adversity is universal.  But what you do with it determines the quality of your life.”
