I’m trying to grow up and be more interested in politics. Watch a little more CNN and BBC and less E! Channel. Do you ever feel confused about who to vote for in the upcoming presidential election? My friend, Tracee, wrote a great blog about just that. She directed me to a great website that has a presidential candidate survey that helps determine which candidate most aligns with the issues that are important to you.
I have to admit, the survey gave me a migraine. I kept having to click on issues and read more about them to decide how I felt about them. I know I’m for universal healthcare but how do I feel about kyoto protocal? I’m all about gun background checks but is waterboarding detainees a good thing? Well it took some time but I finished the survey and they told me who most represents my views on the issues. My ten year old daughter wanted to take the survey, so I helped her by explaining each issue and letting her choose. Interestingly, her results were different from mine.
Did anyone catch Obama on ellen? Everyone is analyzing his dance moves. I’m more mature than that. I just like that the new suits are more tailored with a skinny leg.
I am undecided. If Hillary wins the ticket I will vote for her over any of the republican candidates. Gulp! I can not believe I just said that. I’m not a huge fan of Ms. C., but she is telling me what I want to hear on my biggest concerns.
Mike Gavel? What?!? Former Alaskan senator?!? Huh?
(I took the picture w/ my built in camera on my laptop. Hazel’s middle name is Bean. Shhhh)

Well, who did you get?
Politics is simplistic and easy. Especially about the issues. You don’t have to have a position on every issue – you just have to decide what issues you’re most passionate about and vote on those. It’s unlikely you’ll be choosing between a candidate you agree 100% with or one you diabolically oppose on every issue.
For instance, I haven’t a clue about Kyoto whatever and I waterboarding detainees isn’t an issue that I care that much about.
But, healthcare and family-friendly employment policy are two issues I’m willing fight vigorously for.
