Wedding facts

I got cyber tagged by Crazy Thoughts and need to tell you 8 facts about my wedding. O.k. here it goes:
- I got married in 1995 the year of The Trial of the Century (in case you were in a coma, that’s the O.J. Simpson Trial). One cool thing I remember about the year before was that I had just gone out on a first date with my future husband and came home to see the Bronco chase being televised on TV. All those people on the freeway were holding the “Go Juice” signs. It was unbelievable how funny it was.
- I married a wonderful man who happens to be 11 years older than me. I tease him because we both had graduations in 1976 (his was high school and mine was Kindergarten).
- We decided to get married on a Tuesday and had the ceremony on a Saturday. His parents couldn’t make it all the way from West Virginia because they were taking care of both of his grandmas who were elderly (obviously) so they listened to the ceremony over the phone. We had the minister hold the cordless while he spoke.
- I wore an ivory colored sleeveless tank dress that was covered in pearls. It had a little jacket also covered in pearls to match. It was pretty cute for only having four days to find it.
- We got married in his sister’s living room with a small crowd of friends and family there. There was a stuffed deer head looking down at us from over the fireplace mantle (which I don’t approve of) and there was horrible Kenny G. music playing. We laugh now about how awful it was but atleast we’re still going strong 12 years later.
- People were really sweet about it and said it was really intimate and warm and one of the best weddings they had ever been to.
- One of my favorite wedding gifts was a set of little demitasse cups and saucers for espresso. They were so adorable and classy and I still have them.
- We weren’t really getting along on the day we got married and so my sweet husband says sometimes when we kiss now, “I love you more than the day we were married.”

That was a beautiful post, thank you. It’s nice to know other people are enjoying marriage as much as I am.
