Father’s Day Gift Idea– Not!
April 30, 2008 — crystalgableI was just lurking on Dooce’s blog and saw that she has now published a book entitled Things I learned About My Dad (in therapy). Just in time for Fathers Day! My first thought was “What? $40,000 a month in ad revenue isn’t enough for you? You need a bestselling book, too?” Jealous much? And not only has she given us this , she’s even offering to autograph the book for us as long as we send her the money for return shipping. Yeah, I’m sure that’s at the top of my Dad’s wish list. Wait, I think I can hear my Dad now… “please get me that book by the skinny, blonde chick who writes that blog and Oh wait a minute– WHAT’S A BLOG?!!!”

This is the kind of crap I am missing by no longer reading Dooce, eh? Ah well.
My dad still asks me to “write back to let me know you got this email” every time he sends one, so…yeah. Pretty sure he’s not into the blog scene.

Maybe I’ll just write my own book and call it “Things I’m too chickshit to tell my Dad about”….that would make for some interesting dinner conversations!!
ooh…I’m such a big talker….~~sigh~~
Have seen alot of references to Dooce…never been there…and how do your pronounce that anyway…/doo-che/? /doosh/? /doo-shay/? /scooby-dooby-doo/?

I love dooce. She’s hilarious.
But it doesn’t sound like the book would be a super father’s day read. Maybe I misread the summary.

I’m not sure my dad would really want to read about what I learned in therapy. Snort.

I would give it to my Dad, but we are estranged so it might work out.

I’m relieved to know I’m not the only one who experiences jealousy in regards to Dooce
