I handed my kid a book and said, "Talk to me when you're done" LOL. Ok, I wasn't that bad, but pretty close! I got her The Care and Keeping of You from American Girl when she turned 9. It goes over periods and all the products and why you need them in a very straightforward manner. She wasn't the least freaked out about it. SO when she saw the 4th grade movie last year, it was no big deal ("It was boring, Mom, I already know this stuff") But we have not had a tampon conversation. There is info in the american girl book, with pencil drawing illustrations of a girl inserting one (believe it or not!), so she knows. We just haven't discussed it. crystal, what a good mom you are! Tampons are so easy, you can wear them all day, yippee! They don't show, they don't feel gross, woo hoo! But I really can't see my 10 year old using tampons. I am so not ready for any of this.
