So touching
May 12, 2008 — crystalgableI found another documentary that was wonderful. Following Sean started out as a college film assignment for Ralph Arlyck who filmed his upstairs neighbor’s four year old son while living in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco in 1969. The intimate conversation that followed revealed many details about the care free lifestyle that was prevalent at the time. Arlyck revisits Sean, 30 years later to find out where his life has taken him and if he suffered from the liberal ideals that were so much a part of his childhood.

Oh, wow! That is so fascinating…I’d love to see that! I really love watching documentaries. Have you see “The Buena Vista Social Club”? I highly recommend it.

That does sound interesting…..a part of me is picturing that guy, now, living in an unlta clean apartment with very little around him and working as a CPA or some other “suit” job….but, that’s just me, first thing in the morning, without any coffee!!
And yes, the Buena Vista Social Club is a MUST to see. The music is incredible!! I have never seen it with English subtitles, (and I can’t read the Japanese!!)but it is still awesome. We have the soundtrack…AND concert DVDs of the old guys, when they took them to the States!!!
(and I must be crazy, but I keep giggling about that damn momchichi/david post…..how smart of you to realize the “connection”!!! teehee!!)

Yes, I watched it a second time with B. This movie really affected me. It was so good because you not only get to see the changes in Sean, but also in the director’s life (over 30 years). It was wonderful.

I can’t tell you. You have to see it for yourself but I will tell you that it leaves you really happy for him.
