What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
Went back to college as a 38 year old…

Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My resolution is always the same– “to lose weight”. I guess I should add “and keep it off” to make it more fitting.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not really, but one of my best friends has one “in eutero”. LOL.

Did anyone close to you die?
A friend’s Dad and a guy I used to work with at a different salon.

What countries did you visit?
Canada and The Banana Republic

What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
The ability to shut up and not have to be right.

What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Election Day, November 4th was incredible!

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Straight A’s as a wife and working mother.

What was your biggest failure?
Buying another diet book.

Did you suffer illness or injury?
My dramatic ankle sprain of 2008…

What was the best thing you bought?
The iPhone, of course.

Whose behavior merited celebration?
My daughter continues to impress me.

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
John McCain and Madonna.

Where did most of your money go?
House payment, salon rent, car payment and eating out.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The release of Chinese Democracy but then it sucked.

What song will always remind you of 2008?
Single Ladies by Beyonce.

Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? same   b) thinner or fatter? Not sure   c) richer or poorer? richer, cuz I got a settlement:-)

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Working out.

What do you wish you’d done less of?
Eating the wrong things.

How did you spend Christmas?
We opened presents at our house, went to the movies, and joined friends around a fire pit for drinks.

Did you fall in love in 2008?
yeah, with twitter.

What was your favorite TV program?
Entourage, Dexter, and True Blood.

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
no

What was the best book you read? Chronicles by Bob Dylan

What was your greatest musical discovery?
Muse

What did you want and get?
New luggage

What did you want and not get?
A convertible

What was your favorite film of this year?
Tell No One

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I got an aromatherapy massage at the new green spa, B. took me out to The Outback.  I turned 39.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More travel

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
sad

What kept you sane?
Trying to be grateful.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
this one

What political issue stirred you the most?
Trying to get some decent healthcare in this country.

Who do you miss? My friend, Christa.

Who was the best person you met?

So hard to pick just one… I made a friend in my government class, Michele Garcia, who was super nice and we ended up volunteering together at the Democratic Headquarters. I got to meet my blogging idol Mona for reals and her adorable son, Nathan and another favorite was meeting Alexis Saint, a real life angel, who works for Partners in Prevention and V.O.W. and is the coolest chick that I know.

When your leg is cramping up, stop playing volleyball.
