I guess I’m too compassionate because as I watched Tiger Woods’ televised apology today, I felt really sorry for him. He looked sad and bloated and I began to wonder how much sodium he’s consuming in sex rehab? If that wasn’t bad enough, his mom was shooting him daggers from the front row. She looked like she was angry at having to make an appearance under such bad circumstances.
The art direction of the apology was weird, too. First Tiger was shot straight on, like you would see a state of the union address. Halfway through, the camera angle was changed to a side view, shot at a distance with emphasis on Tiger’s butt. Maybe a ploy to detract from his discussion of his buddhist upbringing?
All in all, it was quite a strange event and I really felt for him as he took responsibility for his selfish actions for over 14 minutes. No, I’m not a Tiger Fan, and no I don’t think his wife should forgive him. But yes, I felt a shred of sympathy for a Tiger who is now just a cheetah.
